A man from Portland, USA, accidentally found himself, his children and his two Chihuahua dogs on a nudist beach on Columbia River. He landed on the beach with his family after his raft ran ashore due to a navigation error.

According to police, the man landed inside the ‘clothing optional’ section of the beach, causing one nude sunbather to exception to his presence, and particularly that of his two dogs. The nude sunbather allegedly attacked the man, and his two Chihuahuas, using a police baton as a weapon. [read more]

Two pit bull type dogs went on what police described as a ‘rampage’ on Monday when they roamed the streets of Cambridge. The two dogs apparently killed two cats and tried to attack teenagers. Armed police and angered residents went in search of the dogs in a witch hunt that ended with one of the dogs being run down by a car.

The incident started at 7:20am and even sparked a police helicopter to search for the dogs. Both dogs were eventually caught.

According to police, a 31-year-old man from Cambridge was in police custody after being arrested for allowing the dogs to roam ‘out of control’. [read more]

This week a British para-dog and his handler were killed in Afghanistan, by Taliban forces, when they came under heavy fire from an ambush.

The soldier, part of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps was attached to the Parachute Regiment. Both he and his dog were killed on Thursday while on a routine patrol near his bade of ‘Inkerman’. [read more]

No, it’s nothing to do with a new TV show by Simon Cowell, it’s a choir being formed in Swansea for singing dogs. Dogs from the area with great singing voices and wanted to join the canine choir and pay tribute to a local dog from the area that used to rescue swimmers who were drowning in the Swansea docks.

Local dogs from Swansea are being auditioned for their singing voices by artist Richard Higlett.
