Dog saves kittens from a fire in Australia
Dogs aren’t noted for their affection towards cats, their mortal enemy. However Leo the terrier cross from Australia displayed an undying love for a litter of newborn kittens that were threatened when a fire broke out in his home.
Leo refused to leave the house as it filled with smoke, instead choosing to stay with the kittens, who were kept in a box. Fire fighters who entered the house found Leo next to the kittens, guarding them so that they could be found. Leo then had to be revived by the fire fighters with oxygen and a heart massage.
Ken Brown, the fire service commander, said about Leo’s bravery:
Leo wouldn’t leave the kittens and it nearly cost him his life.
As a result of Leo’s selfless bravery the four newborn kittens survived the fire.
