Finding a Border Collie stud dog in the UK

Don't be tempted to pick a stud dog just because he is local; choose the best specimen for your Border Collie. A top show dog often produces average pups whilst his little known sibling produces above average progeny. There are plenty of stud dogs of any breed to be found all over the UK using our stud dog directory

Breeding the Border Collie

Seek advice from the breeder of your Border Collie who will will advise you if he/she is suitable for breeding. There is usually no discharge during a pregnancy, but if you see some, take your Border Collie to a vet straight away. During pregnancy, you'll find your Border Collie eats much more than her usual volume of food; this is quite normal

Breeding Border Collie puppies

It is normal for your bitch to go off her food a day before whelping; she may relieve herself a lot. Dental hygeine for your Border Collie pup is vital; get them used to having their teeth cleaned at an early age. It's best to check if a prospective owner has any prior experience of looking after a Border Collie puppy
