Cats and Dogs are tripping hazards for Americans
According to new research in the USA, Americans are finding that their small furry pets are causing them accidents. It appears that as many as 240 Americans find themselves in hospital every single day because they’ve fallen over their pet cat or dog.
According to research from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as many as 88% of falls in emergency rooms were caused by cats and dogs. Almost 8 million Americans are treated for falls every year.
The research also showed that women were more than twice as likely as men to fall over their pets.
The biggest culprit seems to be tripping, with 31% of dog related injuries being caused by owners tripping over their dogs.
The CDC strongly recommends dog obedience classes to reduce the risks of owners tripping over their dogs.
