Dog inspires owner to lose weight

Lindsey Evans, a 39-year-old woman from Neath in South Wales, has triumphed in her efforts to lose weight after dropping an exceptional 15 stone. This dramatic change of events came about after Lindsey discovered her pet dog’s weight loss.

Millie, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, weighed nine stone prior to the weight loss. This weight for a dog of her breed is described as being ‘overweight’ and, if it were not for an operation that Millie needed on her leg, the transformation might have never happened.

When 11-year-old Millie had leg problems, she was admitted to the vets for an operation. During her visits, a veterinarian working in the practice was staggered by her size. Explaining that her weight could cause significant health problems in the future, Lindsey made the effort to improve Millie’s diet greatly. Now, Millie has dropped five stone and her slimmer, leaner figure means that her energy levels have soared.

The results of Millie’s diet changes led Lindsey to making alterations in her own life and, at the beginning of the process, Lindsey’s target weight was 10 stone. This target has now been achieved and her former 25-stone frame is a thing of the past. However, Lindsey says that if it were not for Millie, the weight loss would never have taken place.
