Dogs Trust Leeds receives visit from celebrity couple during Pride Month

During Pride Month, dog charity Dogs Trust Leeds received a special visit from a celebrity couple who continuously support the charity and wanted to celebrate the ‘love and diversity’ of Pride Month.

Keegan Hirst, Britain’s first openly gay rugby league player and his partner Joel Wood, popular Youtuber, recently visited Dogs Trust Leeds to spread the love during Pride Month and support the charity.

The celebrity couple are known for their love of dogs and were happy to receive a tour of the centre during their special visit, and got to say hello to all of the dogs currently in the care of the charity.

They were also educated on the programmes for fostering and rehoming the dogs that Dogs Trust Leeds are involved in, as well as the Dog’s School which helps owners and pets build a lasting bond.

Keegan and Joel have expressed their support of the work Dogs Trust does, and felt that during Pride Month, it’s important to extend the message of love to all beings, which also includes the four-legged kind. Being dog dads themselves, they understand how important the charity and its work is.

The couple previously supported the charity back in April, when Joel used his following to raise £2,000 for the work the charity does. He also urged those same 127,000 Instagram followers to sign the Dogs Trust petition which would see a pause on VAT on vet services and pet food.
