Woof! was a children’s TV series about a boy who turned into a dog. The series ran on CITV for several years, first aired in 1989, and starred the aptly named Edward Fido as Eric, the boy who, when his nose got itchy, turned into a black and white dog. The show also starred Liza Goddard as one of the school teachers at Eric’s school.
The first of the canine actors to play his four legged persona was ‘Pippin’, who was actually one of the puppies sired by a dog that played Benji, in the popular series of films.
Woof! ran until 1997 when it was axed, with only Liza Goddard remaining from the original cast members.
Edward Fido went on to found a theatre company that specialised in comedy.
