World’s tallest dog has bone cancer

worlds-tallest-dogThe world’s tallest dog has bone cancer but there is still good news.

A Harlequin Great Dane, Gibson, has held the Guinness Book of Records title of being the world’s tallest dog for the last five years has been fighting bone cancer.

Sadly, the California dog has had to have his front right leg amputated to stop the cancer spreading any further but the good news is that the vets believe the surgery will have stopped the cancer.

It is now almost two months since the operation and his owner, Sandy Hall, reports that Gibson is still a little wobbly on his feet but getting much better at walking on three legs.

Gibson was born on 26th April 2002 and on 31st August 2004 he was measured at 107 cm (42.2 in) tall and declared the world’s tallest dog.
