Anya receives her bravery award at Crufts

by Lianne Wilkinson on March 9, 2009

Anya, the German shepherd who was stabbed in the line of duty defending her handler, has received her award for bravery at this year’s Crufts show, held this last weekend. Anya and her handler, PC Neil Sampson, received the award in the arena and Pc Neil Sampson was interviewed after receiving the award with Anya.

Anya was defending Neil when the pair were arresting a knife wielding assailant last year in Wiltshire. Both Anya and Neil received severe injuries from the assailant, but have made a full recovery and are both back on duty.
