Actress Demi Moore recently revealed that even under layers of prosthetic makeup for her latest film “The Substance”, her chihuahua could still easily identify her.
At the Annual Golden Globes awards on January 6, Moore graced the red carpet after being nominated for best comedy performer for the body horror film. However, her famous chihuahua Pilaf was not in attendance.
A service dog, Pilaf is entitled to access a wide range of celebrated venues and events where many pets are unable to tread. Pilaf has enjoyed tennis at the French Open, visited Hollywood restaurants, seen shows on Broadway and taken in museum and art exhibitions. To date, she has travelled to Europe by plane with Moore 14 times. While Pilaf’s status as a service dog would have allowed her to join her at the recent film awards, Moore felt the hubbub might be a little too stressful.
Pilaf was with Moore on set as she filmed The Substance and commented on her chihuahua’s uncanny ability to recognise her:
“The most magical thing is regardless of the prosthetics, no matter what I came back from the makeup trailer looking like, she always knew it was me, which tells me that she knows who I really am no matter what.”
Weighing in at just 1.2 pounds, Pilaf was adopted by Moore amidst the COVID pandemic and is a familiar sight in the press, either cradled in in the arms of the actress or nestled inside a designer bag.
