A recent canine commotion on smash-hit show Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) has seen social media light up with activity. The televised semi-finals saw wonder dogs The Trickstars make a welcome return to the competitive programme to entertain audiences and attempt to win over the panel of judges, led by celebrity entrepreneur Simon Cowell.
The Trickstars features Lucy Heath, an experienced dog trainer and her multi-talented team of Tempo (Border Collie), Strike (Border collie), Princess Peach (Maltese) and Trip Hazard (Pomeranian cross Maltese). The dogs have a variety of skills between them including dancing, jumping and running obstacle courses.
Last month during their audition, BGT judges applauded The Trickstars calling them “the best dog act of all time”.
The semi-final saw The Trickstars put on a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-inspired performance based on the works of esteemed Welsh-born author Roald Dahl. Towards the end of the act, Lucy instructed one of the dogs with a golden ticket in its mouth to give the prize to Cowell. However, in a state of over excitement, the little dog dropped the ticket as it closed in on Cowell. The BGT judge was so taken by the performing pooch, he didn’t seem to care about the mistake and commented on how gorgeous the four-legged star was as he patted her.
Fans of the show and dogs alike swiftly took to social media to comment, complementing Lucy for her training skills and offering adoration for The Trickstars wishing them well in the show’s finale still to come.
A dog owner since the early 80s, after convincing his parents to buy a Yorkshire terrier named Sadie, Darren created Dream Dogs so dog owners could find the best dog related information on the Internet.
