It’s a bumper time for dog related movies at the cinema, and top dog at the moment is the Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston comedy ‘Marley & Me’. Marley & Me was at the top of the US box office for two weeks, and topped the UK charts in its opening week. Marley & Me grossed an impressive £4.4 million in its first week, knocking ‘Watchmen’ down to second spot.

Marley & Me is a comedy about a couple who learn a lot in life from their naughty Labrador, Marley.

Slumdog Millionaire is still in the top five after ten weeks on general release. The top five looks like this:

1. Marley and Me – £4.4m
2. Watchmen – £1.4m
3. Gran Torino – £818,576
4. Slumdog Millionaire – £755,379
5. The Young Victoria – £633,870
