He may be Liverpool’s star striker, but Spanish hitman Fernando Torres was no match for Hank the German Shepherd when he played a one-on-one game at a training centre for dogs.
Torres, who scored the winning goal in this summer’s European Championship Final for Spain, played a game of football with the dog for the cameras. Torres displayed his skills, keeping the ball away from the dog, until Torres took his eye off his opponent.
Torres tries to take the ball past Hank with a trademark flick, but Hank (wearing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard’s number eight shirt) reads the striker’s intention and dispossesses him with ease.
Whether Hank will get anywhere near the Liverpool first team remains to be seen, but surely manager Rafael Benitez will give him a chance. Hank’s sure to make an excellent dogged midfielder!
