Snoop Dogg shows off his canine side in new business deal

American rapper and actor Snoop Dogg has recently added Petco to his roster of business deals, with a new line of treats and other dog accessories to be available at the store this year.

The launch of the collaboration began with a new advert from Petco where Snoop showed off his canine side as a human version of the Doberman Pinscher, referencing his debut album from the 90s, ‘Doggystyle’ and hit ‘Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)’.

Petco posted this ad on their Instagram with the caption ‘It takes a Dogg to know a dog’. This is all part of the company’s ‘It’s What We’d Want If We Were Pets’ campaign. The rapper also reiterated this campaign, being a pet parent himself:

“When it comes to shopping for my pets, I choose stuff for them I’d choose for myself. My pets gotta look good, feel good, smell good.”

This Petco collaboration is one of a number of deals Snoop has on the go, and Petco were keen to secure the star for the campaign due to his immense national and international popularity.

The rapper released his Snoop Doggie Doggs pet line last November which includes a number of doggy items that are ‘fit for royalty’. This new collaboration with Petco will see a line of new treats and toys called Petco Picks by Snoop being available to pet lovers, with the addition of Snoop’s own doggy line being available in their stores this August too.
