The face of the UK’s leading paint brand Dulux has recently added to its celebrity family in the form of a litter of seven puppies. The birth happened just before International Dog Day, which couldn’t be more fitting.
Olivia, the old English sheepdog which is famous for trotting around on the paint brand’s advertisements, has brought two boys and five girls into the world with each one sporting the same the iconic fluffy grey and white coat as their mother.
The old English sheepdog has been the face of the paint brand for many years, with the first appearance being a 1961 advert, so the puppies could well take over from their mother as the face of the brand in the future. According to the Dulux team, the puppies are:
“Loveable bundles of irresistible cuteness that exude a unique charm.”
Creative Director and Colour Expert at Dulux, Marriane Shillingford, has expressed the company’s excitement in sharing the news of the puppy arrivals. Dulux sponsors the Old English Sheepdog Rescue and Welfare Fund, so are proud to show off pictures of the happy doggy family.
Back in 2020, the Old English Sheepdog breed was unfortunately put on the Vulnerable Native Breeds lists, due to fewer than 300 annual registrations of puppies of the breed. However, last year, puppy registrations soared to 66% so it is no longer at risk, and the arrival of Olivia’s celebrity litter certainly brings additional hope to the breed.
A dog owner since the early 80s, after convincing his parents to buy a Yorkshire terrier named Sadie, Darren created Dream Dogs so dog owners could find the best dog related information on the Internet.
