A few weeks ago, music legend Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell, his wife, welcomed a new member of their family in the form of rescue dog Jet from a pet rescue organisation in Los Angeles.
Their newest family member, formerly known as Rover and now known as Jet, is named after one of the artist’s songs and joins the McCartney family’s brood. Both Paul and Nancy worked with the LA based Labelle Foundation to bring the pup into their family.
The couple were thrilled with their new addition, and the rescue organisation took to Instagram to announce the exciting news, with a picture of Paul, Nancy, and Jet at home together:
“Cheers to Rover (now Jet)!! We are so proud of this little pup for finding his fur-ever family!! Thank you Paul McCartney and Nancy for opening up your home and supporting animal rescue.”
McCartney and his wife started their adoption journey together in 2021 with their first dog Rose and the couple are well known for supporting the ‘adopt don’t shop’ mantra as well as supporting animal rights. McCartney even wrote ‘Martha My Dear’ about his dog Martha and in his words, ‘all you need is love’, as he knows very well that furry family members can provide that.
This is just one of the many heartwarming stories about celebrities and their adoptions this year. Other celebs posting pics of themselves and their new rescue pups include Millie Bobby Brown, Michelle Pfeiffer and Max Greenfield of TV show New Girl.
A dog owner since the early 80s, after convincing his parents to buy a Yorkshire terrier named Sadie, Darren created Dream Dogs so dog owners could find the best dog related information on the Internet.
