John Travolta’s family adopt dog from Oscars

After the 2022 Oscars celebrations, actor John Travolta announced that his son Ben had chosen to adopt the dog that was bought onto stage by actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

Curtis was on stage honouring the late Betty White, who died in December 2021, just before she turned 100 years old. White was an actress and comedian, and she was well known for being the first woman to work in front of the camera, as well as behind it – being the first to produce a sitcom in America. White was also an animal welfare advocate and worked with many different charitable organisations.

The actress took to the stage during the Betty White memoriam section of the Oscars ceremony. She held onto the dog, named Mac N Cheese, during a speech, in which she spoke about White’s dedication to the animal welfare charities she supported.

The day after the Oscars ceremony, Travolta took to Instagram to announce to his followers that his son had adopted Mac N Cheese from organisation Paw Works after seeing the dog on stage. He shared a snap on Instagram of himself and his son holding the cute pup, and thanked Curtis and Paw Works in his post.

Curtis went on to share the image of Travolta, his son and Mac N Cheese on her Instagram account, expressing how happy she was to see that the family had made Mac N Cheese one of their own and were taking her home. Other Hollywood stars, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone, commented on Travolta’s post, showing their support for the family’s new addition.
