He first trotted onto the stage with his owner Ashley back when the Britain’s Got Talent auditions hit TV screens. Since this time, the British public pinned Pudsey the dog as a favourite to win the talent show and Simon Cowell sat on the edge of his seat, eagerly awaiting more impressive dog dance acts. After the waiting and wondering, Simon was not disappointed when Pudsey and Ashleigh Butler completed an electrifying performance at the BGT finals last weekend on Saturday May 12th 2012.
Pudsey stood on two legs, jumped into Ashley’s arms, completed perfect spins and even ventured over to the judging panel desk, where the four celebrity judges got a close-up glimpse of this superstar groomed pooch. After the completion of numerous performances from opera singers, classical singers, dance groups and synchronized swimmers, the voting lines closed. Presenters Ant and Dec left finalists feeling anxious as they calmly read out the results.
The minute Ashley and Pudsey’s names were announced, the entire audience burst into a roar of celebration, as did the owner of the show, Simon Cowell. Speaking about the triumph, Simon said “My life is now complete.” The wonderful duo scooped up a grand prize of £500,000 and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in front of the royal family at the Royal Variety Performance. Various interviews and photo shoots are lined up for Pudsey and Ashley, as well as multiple bookings at high-profile events.
